Artezanos Inc. manufactures authentic handmade terracotta floor tiles that are much more akin to reclaimed
French terracotta than to Mexican saltillo. Each piece of tile is hand-molded and dried in the sun. Once dry,
the pieces are fired in a wood burning kiln. Unlike Mexican saltillo, our tiles are cooked at a much higher
temperature for a longer period of time. This makes them much less absorbent and extremely durable, requiring far
less maintenance than traditional saltillo.
Our tile is made up of a rich earth red with shade variations, flash marks, and imperfections.The variations in
shape and color add to this traditional tile. The tiles can be Low-Fired for a lighter coloration or High-Fired
for a darker tone and wider color variation. If frost resistance is a concern, we can custom fire your order to
meet those requirements.
We can custom make any shape and size to suit your individual needs. Popular sizes include 4x4x1, 6x6x1, 8x8x1, 10x10x1, 12x12x1, 18x18x1, and 24x24x1. Tiles are available in pentagonal, octagonal, square, and rectangular shapes. All our handmade terracotta floor tile are sold natural. Our floor tile may be used for interior or exterior applications. We also carry bullnose for stairs.
